Radio Types

These are the radios that at the moment are possible to connect with virtual control head functionality.

These virtual control heads gets the functions that the radio is programmed with. All buttons and the display works as on the standard control head. Buttons can be pushed via the mouse, via a touch screen or via the computers keyboard.

The operator feels like he is sitting in front of the radio!

It is important to program the radio in a way that either optimises the handling of the radio or program it in exactly the same way as a mobile radio that the operator is familiar with. He will then get the same feeling in front of his PC as if he was sitting in front of the radio in his car.

Many dispatchers can operate and share the same radio at the same time. If so any changes made of one operator will affect all users since they share the same radio.

Other types of radios, than the ones below, can be connected through microphone, speaker and PTT but without the ability to change channels, make selective calls etc.

Each radio type with a Virtual Control Head has

its own web page:

These radios have no Virtual Control Head but they still have their own web pages:

Motorola MTM800E / MTM5400-family

This solution works with MTM5200, 5400, 5500 and the MTM800E

The virtual control head works through the PEI-port of the radio. It is not in parallel with the radios control head.

The PEI-port has limitations, so unlike other radios there are some functions that are not available through the virtual control head, please see the specific page for details.
